Day 1 - Arrival, time off, overnight accommodation.
Day 2 - Breakfast. Departure for a guided tour of the city of Zagreb. We shall visit Dolac, Zagreb’s largest open-air market-place, and see the kumice, local peasant women, selling their produce. We shall be presented with general information on Croatian cuisine, the ingredients applied and the methods used to prepare them by our ancestors. After the visit, lunch in a Zagreb restaurant. Time off for shopping, return to the hotel and overnight accommodation.

Braced up with the turkey with mlinci (flatbread), štruklji (boiled strudel with cottage cheese) or any other Zagorje dish, we shall proceed to Trakošćan, one of the most attractive castles in Croatia with a very interesting permanent presentation of exhibits from several historical periods. After the visit, return to the hotel, dinner, overnight accommodation.
Day 4 - Breakfast. Departure for the Plitvice Lakes. En route, a short stop and walk round Rastoke, a unique village with still preserved water mills some of which still slowly grind grain. We proceed to the Plitvice Lakes. Deliciously rich lunch with Lika specialties. After lunch, visit of the Lakes. Time off, overnight accommodation in the environs.
Day 5 - Departure in the morning for Opatija. Visit of the town with a qualified local guide. After the visit, lunch in a local restaurant. The programme includes some time off for individual sightseeing. Return to the hotel. Overnight accommodation.
Day 6 - We have left the past two days for – as they say – “the icing on the cake”: the visit to the small, unique Istrian towns of Grožnjan and Motovun. We shall also show you how people search for truffles, this natural aphrodisiac also known as “black gold”. This gastronomic tour would not be complete without a taste of this delicacy, and lunch will include truffle-flavoured dishes. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 7 - A day reserved for a sail and a visit to Rovinj. We shall embark in the morning and spend a full day on our voyage with a guide. During our sail we shall admire the coastline of Poreč and the Lim Canal as we proceed to Rovinj. In order to round off the marine mood, we shall be treated to grilled fish with side dishes and salads.
Day 8 - Time off until return.
